WHAM! Mobiles ropes in Chris Gayle as brand ambassador

NEW DELHI: Homegrown handset maker WHAM! Mobiles has roped in West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle as its brand ambassador.

Gayle will endorse the Bangalore-based firm's entire range of smartphones, feature phones and tablets in India.

"With this move, WHAM! is making its pitch at the national level: offering cutting edge mobiles at affordable prices with a big star to endorse it for greater impact," WHAM! Mobiles said in a statement.

For the young generation, who demands a handset packed with many features that is also easy on the pocket, they can easily relate to Gayle with his power performance on the field just as Wham!, it added.

"I am excited to be the face of WHAM! as the name personifies my performance on the cricket field. WHAM! stands for high quality products with latest technology and what's best is it looks very trendy. Within a short span of time they have reached out to 1 million users in India and I am proud to be associated with a successful brand as WHAM!," Gayle said.

WHAM! Mobiles has launched 32 models in the market, priced between Rs 999 to Rs 14,999.

The company retails products in the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Orissa and Rajasthan.
