Technology firm Wacom today said has set-up a subsidiary in India to tap the immense opportunities and have a strong regional footprint here.

NEW DELHI: Technology firm Wacom today said has set-up a subsidiary in India to tap the immense opportunities and have a strong regional footprint here.

The subsidiary called, Wacom India, will officially begin its operations from November, and will be headed by President Toshinori Nagasawa, the company told reporters here.

However the company did not disclose the investment details.

"We are impressed with the growth and creativity of Indians. We will expand our network in India by building more distributors and reseller partnerships," Wacom President and CEO Masahiko said.

During the same event the company also launched its new digital pen tablet, Bamboo One.

The device allows the user to digitally capture a handwritten note or drawing. It comes with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) cradle to let the user upload the handwritten notes to a personal computer (PC).

The company has launched the product in small and medium size ranging between Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 each.

Japan-based Wacom Company is a manufacturer of pen tablets, interactive pen display and digital interface solutions.
