Vivo fastest growing brand with over 60% growth in volume, value: GfK

The company in a press release on Wednesday said that Vivo registered growth at a time when the industry grew at a mere 16.8% and 14.2% by value and volume respectively.

NEW DELHI: Chinese handset maker Vivo citing GfK report said that it has emerged as the fastest growing brand with 63.2% growth in value and 60.9% growth in volume in January 2019 versus January 2018.

The company in a press release on Wednesday said that Vivo registered growth at a time when the industry grew at a mere 16.8% and 14.2% by value and volume respectively.

Vivo credited its growth in India to aggressive marketing and extensive product portfolio.


“By launching devices in both the less than and above Rs 20000 plus segment, Vivo was able to secure 15.8% growth in terms of value and 13% growth in terms of volume, in Q4 versus Q3, despite the industry growing of merely 2.6 % and 5.2% in volume and value respectively,” the company stated.

The handset maker also mentioned that the recently launched vivo V15 Pro became the fastest selling smartphone in the V series.

Going forward, we have etched out an aggressive growth plan to revolutionize technology and further strengthen our presence in the country,” said Nipun Marya, director-brand strategy, Vivo India.
