Travelport launches ViewTrip Mobile travel app for iPhone and Android

NEW DELHI: Travelport has launched a free travel app called Travelport ViewTrip Mobile for iPhone and Android smartphone users. It is fully integrated, GDS-powered travel itinerary app to deliver time-critical information to empower users with more control over their travel arrangements.

Through a one-time registration process, all future trips can be automatically synced to your smartphone. You may manage your travel itinerary and stay updated with flight statuses and weather forecasts through live alerts. You can also avail currency conversion and search for a bank near you. Other features include a detailed airport and city guide where you can hunt for deals and discounts on offer by local restaurants around your travel destination.

Travelport, a US-based business solutions provider to travel companies globally, through their development partner ManticPoint, is also offering a white label version of the ViewTrip Mobile. This version, which is not free of cost, will enable travel agents to control content including agency-specific help and advice and directly communicate with the traveller in case of any change in the travel itinerary.

Already out in the United Kingdom earlier this year, the app will be available initially to customers in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Thailand, and later on to other Asia-Pacific countries. ViewTrip Mobile is free for all Travelport travel agency customers currently using the Travelport ViewTrip itinerary solution.
