Tecno to enter India in Q2, plans to locally manufacture handsets
NEW DELHI: Transsion Holdings, which owns the Tecno brand of smartphones that are popular in Africa, plans to make an entry into India.

India is the main market for the company from where the company plans to make for African, Chinese and the local Indian market, over the years. "Our brand Tecno will be in India in the second quarter," said Zhong Qi, vice president, Tecno.

"The first step would be to making in India for Africa, and step four would be to make from India for other emerging markets," he added.

Transsion Holdings, based out of Beijing, is one of the leading players in Africa.
