Swipe to launch 10 smartphones this quarter

NEW DELHI: Pune-based Swipe said it will introduce 10 smartphones under its newly launched Konnect range within the ongoing quarter. The company received Rs 30 crore funding from Kalaari Capital in April 2014, which it is using to expand its footprints in the country, Swipe said in a statement Tuesday.

The company has launched its first smartphone under its new range, called Swipe Konnect 5.0 smartphone and priced it at Rs 8,999.

The Swipe Konnect 5.0 smartphone features a 5 inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and a 1 GB RAM. The device runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS, which is upgradable to Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The smartphone is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera, and it a 3.2 MP front camera for 3G video calling. The company said that the rear camera has an Omni Vision sensor which improves the camera’s resolution and picture quality.

The Konnect 5.0 comes with 8 GB inbuilt memory, which can be expanded to 32 GB via an external SD card. The device comes equipped with 1950 mAh polymer-ion battery. On the connectivity front, the device features dual SIM capability, 3G, WI-Fi and Bluetooth.

The smartphone comes with a free screen guard and premium business navigator worth Rs 1499.
