Spice to unveil Firefox OS smartphones next month

NEW DELHI: Spice Retail has said that it will launch its first Mozilla Firefox OS-powered smartphone in July.

Spice has partnered with Mozilla to bring out a smartphone specifically targeted towards the affordable segment and first time smartphone buyers. Spice Firefox OS smartphones will be ultra-low cost devices, the company said in a statement Thursday.

“These phones will be aggressively priced to ensure, everyone can enjoy and experience the power of the Spice Firefox OS phone,” Spice Retail’s chairman Dilip Modi said in the statement. The company said its Firefox OS smartphones will have dual-SIM dual standby feature.
