Should you buy iPad now or wait for iPad 2 launch

This may horrify a lot of notebook supporters, but if what you are looking for is a lot of Internet browsing, social networking, gaming and word processing, then the iPad is more than a match for the notebook. It is lighter, works faster and has battery life that is unlikely to be matched by a similarly-priced notebook. That said, you would need a computer to transfer music and videos to it, and its connectivity options (restricted Bluetooth, no USB port) remain very limited.

And while some of these can be overcome, they require investing in accessories, which become additional objects to carry (and are a burden on one's bank account) — unlike in a notebook or even a netbook, where everything comes in one compact package.

Still, there can be no denying the fact that the iPad, with a few accessories and apps can very well serve as your second, mobile computing companion. Of course, for best results, you would still need a computer at home or work, but for working on the move, you will be surprised at just how well a tablet works as long you do not need something that requires very high processing power.

Now, a big question. Should you buy the iPad now or wait for the iPad 2’s inevitable launch? Well, it won’t be officially launched in India in a hurry and rumors suggest that the only big change is the addition of dual cameras. Besides, even if you decide to buy the iPad 2, anyone in the family will be more than willing to take the iPad off your hands.
