Satyam case: Order on clubbing CBI chargesheets on June 23

HYDERABAD: The special court trying the Satyam scam cases here today reserved order on clubbing of three chargesheets filed by the CBI, which is investigating the multi-crore accounting scam against Ramalinga Raju and nine others to 23rd this month.

Similarly, order on the plea by the investigating agency to examine Raju through video-conferencing will be passed on June 25.

Magistrate BVLN Chakravarti today completed the hearing of arguments put forward by both the parties.

While Satyam counsel argued that all the cases mentioned in three chargesheets by the CBI are inter-related and cannot be separated, the CBI argued that the cases pertaining to FERA, income tax violations and other violations cannot be clubbed together and should be tried separately.

The CBI counsel also said clubbing of cases for speedy disposal of the case is meaningless as it depends on court and trials.

The magistrate posted the case to June 23 for orders. Meanwhile, Chenchalguda prison authorities who were directed by the court to submit a feasibility report if the accused can use a computer in the prison, said there is no such facility in the prison.

Raju's counsel brought to the court notice that there are news items that some company is going to set up a BPO in Charlapally prison, which is also a central prison. Magistrate posted the case to June 25 for orders.
