The laptops come with an Atom dual-core processor from Intel (N570), a HD webcam and a 12.1-inch display with a brightness of up to 300 candelas, reportedly without unwanted reflections.
The battery provides about 8.5 hours of life. The computer weighs 1.45 kilograms and its housing is about 2 centimetres thick. Samsung has promised a boot-up time of less than 10 seconds.
Chrome OS comes pre-installed and keeps the notebook online permanently since many of the computer's applications have to be downloaded from the internet, where user data will also be stored. But there is also an offline mode.
