Samsung launches phone powered by Windows 7.5
At a launch event Samsung executives announced that they were the first to officially launch a phone in India powered by Windows Phone 7.5.
The Omnia W has a 3.7-inch super amoled display, 1.4 Ghz processor, 5 megapixel camera, 8GB storage and Windows Mobile 7.5 preloaded. It is priced at 19,990. The Wave III has a 4-inch super amoled display, 1.4 Ghz processor, 5 megapixel camera and is preloaded with the Bada 2.0 operating system. It is priced at 19,600.
Finally, the Galaxy Y with a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 832 Mhz processor, 2 megapixel camera and Android 2.3, is priced at 7,830. Samsung will also be shortly announcing the Galaxy R and Galaxy Note for the Indian market - both high-end Android phones with large touchscreens (4.2 inch and 5.3 inch respectively). Including today's new launches, Samsung now has a smartphone portfolio of 12 devices, priced between 6,710 and 32,890.
