NEW DELHI: Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung Wednesday said that Ravinder Zutshi, deputy managing director of the company, will retire on December 31 after serving the company for 19 years.

Zutshi had spearheaded Samsung’s success in India since the company’s debut in 1995 and assisted in setting up the company’s extensive sales and distribution network. He also played an important role in Samsung achieving leadership position in the Southwest Asia market, the company said in a statement.

The company’s leadership team is already going through a restructuring phase in the country, which is in line with its global reorganisation plan. As a result, BD Park, managing director of Samsung India and president of South West Asia operations, has relocated to headquarters in Korea after six years of his Indian stint.

Samsung Electronics Latin America president HyunChil Hong has taken over as the new president of the Southwest Asia regional headquarters whereby he will become the new MD of Samsung India.
