Rising smartphone subscriptions will boost mobile data traffic 10-fold between 2013 and 2019, according to an Ericsson forecast.

This year, total data traffic generated by mobile phones exceeded the amount of traffic generated by mobile PCs, tablets and routers. Though mobile data traffic will grow faster than fixed data traffic, the latter will remain dominant in absolute volume.

Mobile data traffic currently forms 5% of total mobile and fixed traffic and it expected to rise to 12% by 2019. Here’s a look:
