Panasonic aims to capture 8 per cent smartphone mkt share in India

NEW DELHI: Electronics product company Panasonic today said it is aiming to capture 8 per cent market share in the country's smartphone segment within a year.


"We expect to capture 8 per cent smartphone market share in India within a year," Panasonic India, Managing Director Manish Sharma told reporters here.

The company today made launched its first quad core eanbled smartphone Panasonic P51 for Rs 26,900 built on Android latest platform, Jelly Bean. This is among few high-end models that hava dual SIM slot.

The phone has 8 megapixel primary camera with a flash and a 1.3 MP front camera.

Panasonic will also expand its smartphone range. "The smart-phone series will come power-packed with features and will cater to the consumers across the spectrum - from mid-tier to the premium class," Sharma said.

This phone will be available across national retail chain stores, multi-brand outlets and distributors across India from May onwards.
