Obi Mobiles launched operations in India on Thursday with three devices priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,000.

NEW DELHI: Obi Mobiles, a smartphone brand promoted by Singapore-based Inflexionpoint, acompany in which former Apple chief executive John Sculley is an investor, launched operations in India on Thursday with three devices priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,000.

India will be the company’s first stop for investments, marketing and sales, before spreading the handset brand and business to growing markets in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Latin America. The handsets will be available in India beginning next month. The company aims to sell 1 million devices and turn profitable within five months.
