New gadgets launch: Iomega ScreenPlay DX HD media players, Acer ICONIA A500/W500 & AKAI 19 LED TV

Iomega ScreenPlay DX HD media players

The DX HD lineup of media players from Iomega is available in three variants — without storage, or with 1 or 2TB of internal storage. It has HDMI and composite connectivity for video and optical out for digital audio. The player supports almost every video and audio format out there and even incorporates a browser to surf the Internet.

The new range comes with out-of-the-box wireless connectivity thanks to the included Wi-Fi /n dongle allowing quick access to various entertainment sites. The players also feature DLNA for streaming content from various devices on the home network. The include remote control has a full QWERTY keypad on it for ease of use while browsing the Internet.

Acer ICONIA A500/W500

The Iconia Tab A500 and W500 tablets feature a 10.1-inch multi-touch display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and accelerometer, proximity as well as gyro sensor . Powered by a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and 1GB RAM, the tablets come with 16GB/32GB storage expandable via microSD card slot. Both tablets are Wi-Fi only and feature a 5MP AF camera with LED flash on the rear with a 2MP front camera.

The A500 runs Android Honeycomb whereas the W500 comes with Windows 7. Acer also launched the Touchbook (a dual touchscreen notebook) and announced the Smart A300 (a smartphone) and the A100, a 7-inch tablet with Android Honeycomb under the Iconia range.

AKAI 19 LED TV (LED19M03)

Akai has launched India’s smallest room LED TV with their latest 19-inch LED backlit TV at an unbelievable price point. The TV has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and comes with 1,00,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It features digital and analog connectivity with HDMI as well as D-sub port and even has a USB port and a SD memory card slot at the back.

On the side you’ll find composite and component video inputs. The TV supports playback of popular video/audio/photo formats directly from USB or memory card. Weighing a mere 3.5kg, the TV comes with 150W PMPO sound output, dynamic noise reduction and low energy consumption.
