MTS unveils Android-based Blaze 5.0 smartphone at Rs10,999

MTS Blaze 5.0 runs on Android Jellybean 4.1 and features a 5-inch touch screen and comes with an 8.0 mega-pixel auto-focus camera.

NEW DELHI: Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL) that operates under the MTS brand on Monday launched dual SIM Blaze 5.0 smartphone at Rs 10,999.

The company is also bundling 100,000 MB data with a validity of up to one year, MTS said in a statement.

The new device, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor will be launched in 9 telecom circles— Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, UP West, West Bengal and Kolkata, the company said.

MTS Blaze 5.0 runs on Android Jellybean 4.1 and features a 5-inch touch screen and comes with an 8.0 mega-pixel auto-focus camera. The device is packed with 2500 mAH battery and external memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB.

Leonid Musatov, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer at MTS India said that the company is focused on introducing products and services that are built for enhanced data experience for consumers.

Blaze 5.0 has been "has been exclusively designed to cater to the Internet generation,” said Musatov, adding that the new device is best suited for multimedia and mobile gaming.

The new launch is in line with the company’s increasing focus on data services. Its non-voice revenue saw significant rise of 35.3% during the quarter ended March 31, 2014.
