Micromax takes on Moto E with Unite 2, prices it at Rs 6999

NEW DEHI: Home-bred smartphone maker Micromax Thursday expanded its low-end smartphone range with the launch of Unite 2 and priced it at Rs6,999, pegging it directly against Motorola’s similarly priced new model Moto E which has been a sell out.

The smartphone - which supports 21 languages including English, Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu - is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It is the company’s first smartphone which offers the latest Android KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box.

The smartphone features a 4.7-inch Bright Graph IPS display. On the camera front, the device features a 5 MP rear camera with flash and a 2MP front camera. Micromax Unite 2 is packed in 2,000 mAh battery.

The device has 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB. The smartphone will be available in 4 color options – grey, white, red and green – and has pre-loaded apps like MAd, Getit, Kingsoft Office, Hike, M!Games, M!live etc.

“We aim to create a powerful medium for our consumers to interact, engage, entertain and connect in their preferred language to remove any barrier for technology adoption for the masses in the country,” Shubhodip Pal, chief marketing officer at Micromax, said in a statement.
