Lenovo targets $6 bn in revenue from India in three years

NEW DELHI: Lenovo Chairman and CEO, Yang Yuanqing Wednesday said that Lenovo has a target of generating $6 billion in revenue in the next three years from the India market, given its immense potential.

At a company event to showcase a range of PCs, smartphones, tablets and other disruptive technologies, the company's top executive said that ?Lenovo is bullish about the potential of India as a market.

It has grown tremendously over the last decade which makes India strategically one of the strongest and most important markets outside China.

The company, which has already started to manufacture some of its smartphones from India, could also turn the country into a base for exports of its products to other countries.

?The Lenovo-Motorola combine is now India's No 4 smartphone maker by volume and No 3 by value in India.

“In fact India is the only country where Lenovo offers its entire range of products from smartphones to servers. We have managed to do this not only through our innovative product lineup but also through innovation in every aspect of business be it marketing, retail or channel," Rahul Agarwal, Managing Director, Lenovo India, said in a statement separately.

" As we evolve into a full-fledged customer-centric technology brand, our innovation focus will help us stay ahead of the curve,”? he added.
