NEW DELHI: Handset vendors Lava International, InFocus, Motorola, Micromax and OnePlus are set to refresh their smartphone portfolios with the launch of new devices next week, as they look to further cement their respective presence in the country.

Home-bred handset maker Lava International in partnership with Google will launch its first Android One smartphone in India. ET earlier reported that the latest Android One smartphone, made by Indian handset vendor Lava International, will cost about Rs 12,000, roughly twice what the first phones were priced at.

The launch is likely to be attended by top Google executives involved with the project. The device, which uses a MediaTek chipset and has 2GB RAM, will feature a larger 5-inch display.

US-based InFocus is also expected to launch its new "Made in India" devices, in collaboration with its contract manufacturer Foxconn Technology Group. InFocus is also expected to launch products beyond smartphones.

Foxconn has already started making and shipping its first smartphone InFocus out of its new plant in Andhra Pradesh, as it takes a step forward towards making India its next manufacturing hub.

Lenovo-owned Motorola on the other hand is widely expected to launch the third-generation of the flagship Moto X smartphone and Moto G (Gen 3). India would be among a few other countries, including the US that will see simultaneous release of these new Motorola devices. The India launch is likely to see the presence of Motorola's senior leadership team.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus Two, the second phone from the ‘flagship killer' brand, is all set to be unveiled in India on Tuesday, July 28. The global launch of OnePlus Two will be the world's first product launch in VR (Virtual Reality), which will let its fans stand right next to OnePlus team in China as its unveils the new flagship.

The device is tipped to be launched at around Rs 29,000 in the country.

India's second largest smartphone maker Micromax is also likely to launch a new ultra-affordable smartphone next week in collaboration with online marketplace Flipkart.
