Lava expands its entry-level segment, rolls out Iris Atom 2

Lava International Limited extended its Atom series of entry-level smartphones with the launch of Iris Atom 2 at Rs 4,949 in India.

Iris Atom 2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad Core Processor and comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display. The device runs on Android Kitkat v4.4, and is upgradable to v5.1 Lollipop and also includes smart gesture control features.

The smartphone comes with a scanty 512MB of RAM while most of the new phones at this price point have started coming with 1GB of RAM. In fact, at about thousand more you might even find a couple of smartphones that offer 2GB of RAM. There is a 1750mAh Li-ion battery that powers the Lava Iris Atom 2.

On the camera front, Iris Atom 2 carries a 5MP rear camera that is equipped with panoramic capture modes and HDR. But selfie lovers face disappointment, as the front snapper is a VGA Camera.

Talking about storage capacity, the smartphone has an 8GB of internal memory to store your favorite apps, music & videos, which can be expanded by up to 32GB.

Iris Atom 2 is available in two-colour variants, White and Black across all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets and online platforms.

The phone will be competing with the likes of Micromax Canvas Spark, Huawei Honor Bee and Moto E (Gen 1).
