Launch Pad: Xiaomi Mi 3, Spice Smart Pulse and Samsung Galaxy K Zoom

Xiaomi Mi 3: Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has announced its flagship smartphone Mi 3 for India. The phone uses a heavily customised version of Android called MIUI.

The device has impressive specs for the price: a 5-inch full HD IPS display, dual cameras (13MP rear, 2MP front), 2.3Ghz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (non expandable) and a 3,050mAh battery.

It weighs 145 grams, comes with WiFi, WiFi Direct, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, TV-out, GPS and 3G connectivity. Xiaomi says the phone will be available from 15 July 2014 onwards.



Spice Smart Pulse: Spice calls this, the Smart Pulse, as India's first SIM-enabled smartwatch. It's actually a standalone wearable, Android phone with dual SIM slots. It has a 1.5-inch colour display, microSD slot for expansion (up to 8GB supported) and a 420mAh battery.

In addition, the watch can connect to any smartphone on Android 4.3 using Bluetooth. You can use it to make/receive calls, read and reply to SMS, view notifications, control music playback and even use it as a remote camera shutter for your phone.



Samsung Galaxy K Zoom: The new Galaxy K Zoom is successor to the Galaxy S4 Zoom launched last year — essentially a hybrid of smartphone and point-andshoot camera, the K zoom has a 10X optical zoom.

The upgraded device now has a 20MP sensor, optical image stabilisation and a xenon flash. In front, the 4.8-inch super amoled display has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution to properly showcase the latest Android 4.4.

Hardware includes a new hexa core Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB storage (expandable, supports up to 64GB card) and a 2,430mAh battery. Other features include dual band WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and MHL.
