Intel launches Core i5, i7 processors

Intel Corporation, today launched a series of processors-Core i5, two Core i7 and Xeon processor 3400 series that bring Intel's latest Nehalem microarchitecture to mainstream desktop and entry server markets.

MUMBAI: Intel Corporation, today launched a series of processors-Core i5, two Core i7 and Xeon processor 3400 series that bring Intel's latest Nehalem microarchitecture to mainstream desktop and entry server markets.

"With the launch of the new Core i5 and Core i7 series of processors, we are extending the path-breaking Nehalem microarchitecture for mainstream PC users," Intel Director-Marketing (South Asia), Prakash Bagri, told reporters here.

The new chips are designed for consumers who need top-notch performance for digital media, productivity, gaming and other demanding applications.

Intel also announced the Uber Gamer Championship in association with Zapak, the gaming portal, to mark the launch of the new Core i5 and i7 processors.

The championship would culminate on September 11.
