NEW DELHI: Driven by festive season and increased government buying, the country's printer, copier and multifunctional product (MFP) market grew 57.3 per cent to nearly 0.8 million units in the third quarter of 2010, research firm Gartner today said.

The segment, which saw sales of 497,700 units in Q3 2009, grew 57.3 per cent to 783,000 units in the same quarter this year.

"Due to the festive season and some government purchases, all the major print vendors saw a double-digit growth in shipments in the quarter," Gartner Principal Research Analyst Vishal Tripathi said.

HP, Canon, Epson and Samsung, the top 4 vendors, accounted for 94 per cent of the total shipment in the market, he added.

HP accounted for more than half of the total sales with 431,400 units in Q3 2010, Canon and Epson accounted for 190,000 and 59,000 units. Samsung saw shipments touch 57,700 units in the said period.
