NEW DELHI: The combined printer, copier and multi-functional product (MFP) market in India grew 39.9 per cent in the second quarter of 2010, totalling nearly 0.8 million units, according to research firm Gartner.

"The end of the recession, combined with a surge in end user confidence and availability of better credit, contributed to most of the major vendors experiencing a significant shipment increase in the second quarter of 2010," Gartner Principal Research Analyst Vishal Tripathi said in a statement.

HP was the market leader with a share of 43.9 per cent (339,000 units), while Canon, with 169.5 million units, had a market share of 21.9 per cent in the April-June quarter of 2010.

Epson had a share of 11.1 per cent, followed by Samsung (9.4 per cent), TVSE (4.6 per cent) and other smaller players (9.1 per cent).
