IBM sets up centre in Navi Mumbai

BANGALORE IBM has announced the launch of a work recovery centre in Navi Mumbai to provide business continuity solution to the captive contact centre operations of financial service companies and BPO centres. The new centre will support a capacity of up to 2,500 seats per year and scale it up to 3,500.

Work recovery centre will provide end-toend solution that helps clients to operationalise a business continuity plan covering people, processes and technology. The centre will ensure that employees can remain productive even when they cannot access their workplace in case of certain unexpected events.

A study on workforce continuity by Forrester Consulting found that business interruptions such as site closures due to fire or natural disasters leave the data centre unaffected, but can displace employees from their workplace — significantly impacting the productivity of the employees and their firms..
