Former Union minister for information and technology Dayanidhi Maran, in his first press briefing after resigning from the Union Cabinet on Sunday, said that he is not sad about letting of his ministry.

CHENNAI: Former Union minister for information and technology Dayanidhi Maran, in his first press briefing after resigning from the Union Cabinet on Sunday, said that he is not sad about letting of his ministry.

“I didn’t wait for any showcause notice or anything. When I heard that my leader was upset with me, I sent in my resignation and I am not sad about losing the post of ministership,” Maran said.

Maran refused to elaborate on his differences with DMK party chief K Karunanidhi and said that he would always remain a DMK man.

“I will not make any remarks against Karuna, my leader,” he said.

“I am a DMK man, I was born to be a DMK man. Someone is just trying to capitalise on this opportunity,” the minister said.

He also expressed sadness at the “anti-party accusations” levelled against him. However, he ruled out any chances of being reinstated in the Cabinet.
