HTC ties up with Tata Docomo for smartphones

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese handset maker HTC today said it has partnered with mobile operator Tata Docomo, wherein they will jointly launch a range of smartphones at different price points, including dual SIM HTC One, over the next five months.

HTC One will be available for Rs 53,590 and as part of the initiative, Tata Docomo is also launching special offers for its prepaid and postpaid customers.

"Dual SIM smartphones are becoming more popular as they allow consumers to take advantage of the most effective network coverage in the vicinity of the user for the best possible connections," HTC South Asia President Jack Yang said in a statement.

He added dual sim smartphones makes it easy to track mobile usage and separate spending on work and personal usage.

"This phone (HTC One) uses the dual networks (GSM and CDMA) of Tata Docomo to offer great data & voice experience to customers. Our innovative offerings will appeal to both individual and business customers who desire a data rich experience," Tata Docomo Head (Non Voice Services) Sunil Tandon said.
