HP launches made for India tablet
The 8 inch tablet, which has been priced around Rs. 19,400 features a sunlight readable screen for outdoor usage, a large battery which can last upto 15 hours etc,.

The 8 inch tablet, which has been priced around Rs. 19,400 features a sunlight readable screen for outdoor usage, a large battery which can last upto 15 hours in the field, and a rugged, dust and water resistant body along with supporting regional Indian languages.
“The Government of India is undertaking a massive digital push towards India’s transformation. As a long standing partner in India’s digital journey, we take this opportunity to provide solutions that can solve real life problems for citizens of India. With these Made for India devices, our aim is to offer efficient end-point solutions to enable various flagship schemes for direct benefit transfer, financial inclusion, and healthcare,” said Sumeer Chandra, Managing Director, HP Inc. India said.
The company is in talks with various governments departments and state government, it said without disclosing details. While the product will not be manufactured in India right now, it will be offered also through HP's Device as a Service (DAAS) programme, where the payment can be spread across 12-24 months along with a host of other services by the company.
