NEW DELHI: IT major Hewlett-Packard on Wednesday launched a new set of solutions to help companies reduce costs on maintenance of existing IT infrastructure and also facilitate a transition to cloud computing.

"These products, solutions and services are designed to help companies cut the amount incurred for maintaining existing IT infrastructure, enabling them to divert funds into developing new products and driving innovation," HP India Director (Software and Solutions) Kamal Dutta told reporters here.

By reducing the operational costs that go into maintenance, it can help companies "break the innovation gridlock", he added.

With the new solution, clients can improve efficiency, free up resources and lower the risks associated with the adoption and management of cloud services.

This is part of the company's initiative to combine its software portfolio with consulting expertise to help clients successfully adopt and manage the entire life cycle of cloud services.
