Here’s how you can buy the OnePlus 2 without invite

Although the OnePlus 2 went officially on sale yesterday, it was limited to customers with an invite, which is pretty hard to come by as you all know. Making full use of this situation, a Chinese retailer has popped up, promising to offer you the OnePlus 2 without needing an invite and a wait period of 7-10 days.

The smartphone being offered here is the Chinese version, which has slightly modified network frequencies compared to the global model. But these networks frequencies should be compatible with most Indian operators, so there's not much to worry about in that regard.

The retailer apparently obtains the handset from OnePlus and then offers it to another party who will flash Oxygen OS on the device. It is only then that the device is shipped out to the customers, which explains the relatively long wait time.

The 16GB model of the handset is being sold for $499.99 (Rs 32,400) and the 64GB model is sold for $549.99 (Rs 35,600), so you're paying a hefty premium for the handset here.

This is what the site's description says "No invites, no trickery, no social media sharing. Buying a phone should be simple, so that's what we did."

There's no word if the retailer will entertain warranty requests; so buy from them at your own risk. They mention that devices will be handled on a case-by-case basis in case of issues, which could take quite a long time depending on how many devices have already been returned.
