HCL launches new range of notebook computers
HCL Infosystems Ltd today unveiled its new range of notebook computers, featuring the 'Embedded Continuity and Contro' (EC2) technology.
The EC2-enabled notebooks, the 'HCL Non Stop Series Leaptops' are self-healing computers that will recover all data in less than a minute in case of system crash or any accidental loss of data, George Paul, Executive Vice President-Marketing said.
The 'leaptop' with the EC2 technology stores and updates a complete image of its working state at regular intervals. In case of system crash, malfunction or accidental loss of data, a user can simply reload the previously recorded image and revert to that state, he said.
The Leaptops are priced between Rs 27,000 and Rs One lakh, he said.
