Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson today appointed Paolo Colella as India Head with effect from September 1.

NEW DELHI: Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson has appointed Paolo Colella as the new head of its India operations, replacing Chris Houghton, who will assume the role of North East Asia region head.

Colella, who will also become a member of Ericsson’s global leadership team, will take charge from September 1 and will report to senior vice president Asia-Pacific and India region Mats H Olsson, the company said in a statement on Friday.

At present, Colella is responsible for Ericsson’s consulting and systems integration business globally.

Prior to this, he worked as executive vice president-sales and marketing at Ericsson United Kingdom, where he was responsible for managing both telecom and non-telecom customers.

Colella joined Ericsson in 2001 as vice president of global services at Ericsson Italy and has since held different positions in sales and marketing, services and key account management.
