INDIA: Dell has announced that it has begun taking orders and shipping Dell desktop and notebook computers pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows Vista.

According to a company release, Dell systems equipped with Windows Vista are designed to deliver a rich digital lifestyle experience, combined with secure operations and ease of use. For example, customers can easily record and watch high definition video, organize digital photo and music libraries, quickly search data and multimedia files and browse the Internet with excellent protection from spyware and phishing scams.

Customers using Dell systems configured with Windows Vista can see clear advantages of Dells engineering expertise and ability to custom build products that deliver an optimal Vista experience -- well before many of our competitors can move older systems from store shelves, said Rajan Anandan, Vice President & General Manager, Dell India. Dell makes it easy for customers to custom order the right desktop or notebook and unleash their imagination, increase productivity and embrace todays digital lifestyle.

The initial roll-out of Windows Vista-installed systems will be in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. Additional languages will be available in the weeks ahead.
