Cisco announces $100 mn investment in India

Networking solutions provider Cisco on Tuesday unveiled its Globalisation Centre East Campus here and announced an additional $100 million venture capital funding to expand investments in early stage Indian companies.

BANGALORE: Networking solutions provider Cisco on Tuesday unveiled its Globalisation Centre East Campus here and announced an additional $100 million venture capital funding to expand investments in early stage Indian companies.

The venture investments in India is consistent with Cisco's long track record of driving growth in information technology market through investments in innovation economy, the company's Chairman and CEO John Chambers said on the occasion.

In 2005, Cisco had designated $100 million venture funding, which was part of the $1.1 billion overall investment plan for India, company officials said.
