Champion Computers to start local manufacturing; aims Rs 500 crore turnover
It has a tie up with state-run BSNL for its products since November last year and has sold over 1 lakh devices through the partnership.

"We will commence manufacturing at our Himachal Pradesh facility by the end of June and are targetting to achieve a turnover of Rs 500 crore by the end of financial year 14-15," Champion Computers Director Kapil Wadhwa told PTI.
He said the current capacity of the facility is 1 lakh units per month, which is likely to be increased three times by the end of this year.
"We will start producing feature and smartphones initially but will also start manufacturing tablet PCs going forward," Wadhwa said.
He said the company is very optimistic on the government policies, which encourage manufacturing.
The company, which has around 10 models in the market currently, plans to launch 3-4 devices every month.
It has a tie up with state-run BSNL for its products since November last year and has sold over 1 lakh devices through the partnership.
The company has a established network of about 3,000 dealers across country and the products are also available through e-commerce sites.
It also has a nationwide distribution network of 14 branch offices and 400 service centres.
