PUNE: In a bid to help the companies in achieving maximum digitalisation Canon India plans to offer digitalisation services to them. These services will help in archiving of documents for the companies along with putting them in the work flow and storing them.

Sharing his views Canon India Executive Vice President Alok Bharadwaj said that the digitilisation services would be officially launches in front of 150 CEO’s in an event organised in Pune. He said that Canon is expanding its domain from pure printing services to digitization services.

“There is a definite trend towards printing reduction in companies and our service can reduce 25 percent of the printing cost and help in printing optimization. Canon has all the support required for such services and has end to end solution for the entire value chain in company. The hardware is provided by Canon, software is provided by a sister concern of Canon “Therefore" which is Austria based and which was recently acquired by Canon. The manpower support and warehouse for storing documents will be also provided by Canon through its tie ups. Our proposition is that digitization is something that should be outsourced,” Bharadwaj explained.

The fortune of compact cameras especially with the entry level cameras is discouraging. However, DSLR segment on the other side is expected to become 80 per cent of our images business in next two years,” said Bharadwaj

Currently managed document services already constitutes Rs 100 crores of Canon’s business and the new digitization services is expected to be add Rs 10 crore business by end of this year.
