Japanese home and business IT peripheral major Brother International today said it's aiming at a 4-fold growth in its market share in the Rs 2,400-crore Indian printer market.

KOLKATA: Japanese home and business IT peripheral major Brother International today said it's aiming at a 4-fold growth in its market share in the Rs 2,400-crore Indian printer market.

"We have a market share of 6 per cent in laser and 4 per cent in the inkjet segment. We are aiming at 25 per cent in laser and 15 per cent in inkjet segment by FY17," Brother International India managing director Toshiaki Isayama said here today.

"Extremely low cost of per page printing at 10 paisa, smart designs and easy and hassle-free ink refilling experience will be the drivers for the sharp growth," he said.

Isayama was in the city to launch a new series of printers for the Indian market with 31 million units per annum market share and growing.

Sales GM Alok Nigam said the inkjet printer market is expanding 20 per cent while laser 10 per cent, and the printing solution category accounted for 85 per cent of the company's India revenues.
