Apple to terminate distribution arrangement with HCL Infosystems from next year

KOLKATA: Apple India is going to terminate the distribution arrangement with HCL Infosystems for iPhone and other products from March 30 next year, as per a stock exchange notification issued by HCL on Wednesday.

Both the companies had entered into a distribution tie up last year July. At present, Apple has five distributors in India – Brightstar, HCL Infosystems, Ingram Micro, Rashi Peripherals and Redington.

HCL did not cite the reason behind the termination of the distribution contract in its filing. ET has earlier reported that Apple was rejigging it's distribution structure in India.
