Apple to launche new iPad in Australia

The new version of iPad will have upgraded screen, meaning the 3.1 mon pixels encompassed by the 9.7-inch screen and a faster processor.

MELBOURNE: New iPad, with a whole host of new features, is all set to hit Australian market on March 16.

The new version of the iPad will have upgraded screen - called a Retina Display, meaning the 3.1 million pixels encompassed by the 9.7-inch (diagonal) screen and a faster processor, according to media reports here.

Apple has given no name to the new device, which will be slightly heavier than iPad 2.

When it goes on sale in Australia and several other countries, it will be "the iPad" or perhaps "the new iPad" -- not "iPad 3" or "iPad HD", as speculated earlier.
