AMD launches teraFlops graphic cards for Bollywood
The two products were launched through a demonstration dubbed as Cinema 2.0 experience, showing the fusion of dynamic real time interactivity with convincing cinematic digital effects that deliver environments rivalling the realism video.
"With Cinema 2.0, movies become more interactive and the video games look like movies," AMD Head of Desktop Platform
PR and Performance Communication, Chris Hook, said at the launch.
Till today, content developers had to choose between cinematic realism rendered off-line and absence of rewarding sensory experience of interactivity or interactive experience that fell well short of photorealism.
"Imagine the ability to look around the environment in a sci-fi movie, put yourself in the driver's scene in a race, duck behind things and pop up to see what is going on during a gun fight--all of these things are possible with Cinema 2.0," AMD's Graphic Processing Group Chief Technology Officer, Raja Koduri, said.
