Acer expands tablet range with ICONIA W4 3G priced at Rs 29,999

NEW DELHI: PC vendor Acer India Thursday expanded its tablet portfolio with the launch of 3G-enabled ICONIA W4 tablet and priced it at Rs29,999.

The device will be available at Croma and Reliance Digital outlets across the country along with other Acer retail outlets from May 3 onwards, Acer said in a statement.

The Windows 8.1 powered tablet, ICONIA W4 3G, is powered by an Intel Atom Quad Core processor and has an 8 inch HD display with IPS technology that provides enhanced clarity and brightness.

The company claims that the device offers a battery life up to 10 hours for web browsing and up to 8 hours for video playback.

On the application front, ICONIA W4 3G comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home and Student edition 2013.

The device was launched on Facebook in India ahead of other countries, the company said in a statement.

The company has also introduced an offer on Facebook, wherein customers can pre-book the device and avail a special offer worth Rs2999.

Last year, sales of tablets in India grew 56.4 per cent to 4.14 million units against 2.66 million units in 2012, according to some estimates, primarily driven by strong demand for low-cost models from home-bred sellers Micromax and Lava.
