Hyderabad-based deeptech startup Xbattery has raised $2.3 million in a funding round led by the Bipin Patel Family Office, with participation from Jhaveri Credits.

The company will use the fresh capital to upgrade its research and development (R&D) facilities and expand its engineering and production teams.

“We need to purchase large equipment for our R&D. We are also upgrading our R&D lab and hiring more R&D engineers,” said Satish Reddy, cofounder of Xbattery, in an interaction with ET.

Founded in 2024 by Satish Reddy, Sonu Mishra, and Varshith Rao, Xbattery is building a platform for next-generation Battery Management Systems (BMS) that support both electric vehicles and stationary applications. The company said it is focusing particularly on electric four-wheelers that require higher-capacity battery systems.

Currently at the prototype stage, Xbattery sources about 60% of its components, such as capacitors and resistors, from India, with the rest coming from suppliers in China and Europe.

The BMS market has seen investor interest of late. Earlier this month, Offgrid Energy Labs raised $15 million, as reported by ET. According to the International Market Analysis Research and Consulting Group, the global BMS market was valued at $278 million in 2024 and is projected to reach $1.2 billion by 2033.

“Xbattery is creating India’s first high-voltage BMS, which aims to reduce the country’s dependency on foreign products... Our families have a sizeable interest in the energy space, and we expect Xbattery to become a strategic partner,” said Preet Patel, chief executive officer of the Bipin Patel Family Office.

The company plans to first tap into the domestic market before expanding to Europe and North America.
