Smarter Dharma, a sustainable solutions platform for real estate firms, has raised $500,000 in seed funding from Zerodha’s Rainmatter, Gruhas and Anthill Ventures, among others.

The Bengaluru-based startup works towards reducing the carbon footprint of companies in the real estate sector.

The company’s sustainability platform and services use a data-science engine to bring tangibility to sustainability right from the concept stage of real estate products.

“Over the years, we have mitigated more than 50,000 tons of CO2 emissions and created business value for our customers. This fund raise will enable us to build our technology platform and business development team to scale across the country. And, this would set us on our path to mitigating a billion tons of CO2 emissions by 2030,” said Sriram Kuchimanchi, founder and CEO, Smarter Dharma.

Through the integration of data analytics and patented machine learning algorithms, the platform aims to help real estate firms achieve net zero goals while simplifying decision-making processes for infrastructure projects.

“One of the problems the construction and real estate industry faces today is access to sustainable materials and designs readily. This is what Smarter Dharma is solving. So we are very happy to partner with them on this endeavour,” said Sameer Shisodia, CEO, Rainmatter Foundation.

The platform aims to empower all stakeholders to make informed choices and contribute towards India's fulfillment of its COP-26 INDC commitments, Smarter Dharma said.

“We believe that the coalition of enterprise SaaS and software for construction has just begun and there is immense potential to grow leaps and bounds to pave the way for sustainable construction and evaluation,” said Abhijeet Pai, cofounder, Gruhas.
