Sales outreach startup Futwork raises funding from Blume Ventures, others

Bengaluru: Sales outreach platform Futwork has raised $1 million as a part of its seed funding round led by Blume Ventures and Simile Venture Partners, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The round also saw participation from Silicon Valley-based Riverside Ventures and angel investors including Shivakumar Ganesan, founder of Exotel and Phanindra Sama, founder of Redbus.

According to the company, it plans to utilise the funds to build out its products as well as grow its team. The company will focus on enterprise customers with large outbound calling use cases.


Founded in 2020, by Armaan Vananchal, Niranjan Nakhate and Sri Ganapathy, Futwork (formerly Frapp) enables businesses to set up and scale up their outbound calling teams at zero fixed costs. It powers tele-calling use cases including – product demos, session booking and customer feedback.

The founding team’s previous edtech business, Studentidentify was acquired by the UK-based student network and discounting startup Unidays.

“With this round, we aim to build more tools for our customers and to become the de facto black box solution for Indian enterprises to scale up their inside sales,” said Futwork cofounder, Nakhate.

The startup presently supports around 20 customers including Khatabook, Tata, Shyplite, Growth School, Upgrad, Meesho and Cashify.

“Futwork’s platform is also helping transform the lives and families of tier 2 and 3 Indians helping them earn a steady income. With this new round they will get to invest further in their tech, sales and operations, thereby supporting more enterprises and transforming more lives,” said Sajith Pai, director, Blume Ventures.
