Paschim Renewables to invest Rs 150 crore in Karnataka for 30 MW solar project
The state government will help the clean energy company obtain the necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and incentives under the existing policies and regulations. The project, worth Rs 150 crore, will be completed in two years.

Per the MoU, the Karnataka government will facilitate PRPL in obtaining necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and incentives under the existing policies and regulations.
According to PRPL, the project is expected to generate approximately 25 permanent jobs and 100 indirect employment opportunities, it said in a statement. The company sees this as a push towards clean energy and employment generation in Tier-2 and Tier-3 regions.
The MoU was signed by S Selvakumar, principal secretary, commerce & industries department, and Srinivas Movalla, director, PRPL.
In last year’s budget, the state government had set a target to increase energy production from 32 gigawatts (GW) to 60 GW by 2030, of which 28 GW is to come from renewable energy. Currently, the state ranks fourth in renewable energy production as per the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd.
