Ocean surveillance startup PierSight raises $600,000 in funding led by All In Capital
PierSight will deploy the fresh funding towards advancing its satellite subsystems by strengthening its talent pool and procuring essential electronic components for integration and comprehensive testing, as per a statement.

Startup accelerator Techstars and angel investors such as Andreas Klinger, Vismay Agrawal and Nikunj Jalan, among others, also participated in the funding round of the maritime monitoring technology company.
Cofounded by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) employee Gaurav Seth and former National Instruments employee Vinit Bansal, PierSight aims to provide ocean surveillance through a constellation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imaging and AIS (Automatic Identification System) satellites.
The Ahmedabad-headquartered startup is currently undergoing a three-month accelerator programme with Techstars in Los Angeles, California, Seth told ET. It is the only Indian company and one of 12 global startups selected to join the fall cohort of the Techstars Space Accelerator.
Selections in the Techstars programme are conducted in partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the United States Space Force. PierSight’s central objective is to provide continuous monitoring of maritime operations in 30-minute intervals.

“Our engagements span a diverse spectrum of clients, encompassing island nations, government commerce divisions, and environmental agencies, all of whom share a pressing concern about the pervasive exploitation of exclusive economic zones,” Seth said.
