Electronic medical record (EMR) software provider for doctors HealthPlix Technologies on Wednesday said it raised $22 million in a seriesC round of funding, led by Avataar Venture Partners.

Other participating investors include SIG Venture Capital and returning investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, JSW Ventures, Kalaari Capital and Chiratae Ventures.

While HealthPlix Technologies is Avataar Venture Partners’ first interest in the healthtech space, it is its second investment in the larger healthcare sector, first being in InsuranceDekho.

“HealthPlix approach of using doctors as the focal point and delivering value to other stakeholders like patients, pharma brands, pharmacies and diagnostic labs is unique and differentiated. We have seen many business models that have failed to scale in the healthtech ecosystem and we believe that Sandeep has built a great team to deliver on HealthPlix promise,” Avataar Venture Partners managing partner said in a statement.

Founded in 2014, HealthPlix services over 10,000 doctors across 16 specialties with its artificial intelligence powered EMR platform with over 22 million patients having been treated using the platform.
