ETtech Deals Digest: Startups raise $914 million in August, down 48% on-year
Startups across seed, early, and late stages raised the funds through 88 deals, compared to 97 in the year-ago period.

This month, startups, primarily in the seed, early, and late stages, secured funding through 88 rounds, according to data from market intelligence platform Tracxn.
In July 2025, startups raised around $586.3 million from 97 rounds.
Last week — from August 23 to August 29 — startups raised around $88.9 million.

Top deals of the month
Weaver Services: Housing finance platform Weaver Services signed agreements to raise $170 million (around Rs 1,481.5 crore) in a funding round led by Lightspeed and Premji Invest, with Gaja Capital participating.
Truemeds: Telehealth platform Truemeds secured $85 million in a funding round led by Accel and Peak XV Partners. Of the total, $65 million was primary capital, while $20 million was secondary transactions. Existing investors WestBridge Capital and Info Edge Ventures also participated in the financing.
1Kosmos: Identity proofing and authentication company 1Kosmos raised $57 million in a funding round, including a $10 million line of credit from Bridge Bank. The round was led by Forgepoint Capital and Origami’s Oquirrh Ventures.
The Sleep Company: Direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup The Sleep Company raised around $54.7 million in a mix of primary and secondary funding, with private equity firm ChrysCapital and 360 One Asset investing in the round. As part of the transaction, early backer Fireside Ventures made a partial exit through secondary share sales.
