ETtech Deals Digest: Startups raise $297.5 million this week, up 208% on-year

Despite the higher value, the number of deals during the week was down at 22 transactions, compared with 36 in the corresponding week last year.

Startups raised around $297.5 million between November 1 and 7, a huge 208% increase from the $96.3 million raised during the same period of the previous year, according to data from Tracxn.

However, the funding amount was 33% less than the $446 million of the previous week.

Deal activity, however, fell on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, with 22 transactions recorded this week compared with 36 a year earlier.

Top deals

MoEngage: Enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) company MoEngage closed a $100 million funding round led by A91 Partners and existing investor Goldman Sachs Alternatives. Of the total funding, 60% was primary capital, and the rest was secondary sale of shares by existing backers.

Giga AI: Artificial intelligence (AI)-led support automation company Giga AI raised $61 million in a funding round led by Redpoint Ventures. The San Francisco-based company’s funding made waves in the tech ecosystem as the cofounders, IIT Kharagpur alumni Varun Vummadi and Esha Manideep, shared on LinkedIn their startup journey, leaving behind rewarding academic and corporate careers.

Lighthouse Canton: Investment firm Lighthouse Canton secured $40 million in its first-ever external funding round led by Peak XV Partners.
